Cut-off Score

The cut-off score for the PTE (Pearson Test of English) required for international students varies widely depending on the institution and the program of study. Generally, for undergraduate and graduate programs at reputable universities, a minimum PTE score of around 50 to 60 is often required, with higher scores, typically in the range of 65 to 75, being expected for more competitive programs or institutions. Some universities may have specific score requirements for each section of the test—listening, reading, speaking, and writing—while others focus on the overall score. It’s essential for students to check the specific PTE score requirements of the universities and programs they are interested in, as these can vary based on factors such as the program’s rigor and the institution’s admission standards.
