Cut-off Score

The cut off score for the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) required for international students seeking admission to business schools can vary widely depending on the institution and program. For top tier business schools, a competitive GMAT score typically falls between 700 and 750 out of a possible 800. However, for other institutions, a score in the range of 600 to 700 may be sufficient. Highly selective programs may also consider other factors such as professional experience, academic background, and personal statements, in addition to the GMAT score. It is crucial for prospective students to research the specific GMAT score requirements and averages for the programs they are interested in to align their preparation with their target schools.

Overall purpose

The GMAT is designed to assess skills that are deemed essential for success in business school, including analytical writing, integrated reasoning, quantitative analysis, and verbal reasoning. Preparing for the GMAT helps in developing these skills and can provide a competitive edge in the graduate business school admissions process.
